group coaching + community
My guiding philosophy is that we all have what we need within. Everyone has stories that they can share; to teach, to empower, to support, and connect with others.
We work together to discover and visualize what those stories are that make up your source of knowing, how to embody, live, and express authentically.
Often times when we’re overwhelmed, stuck, lack focus, feel lost, it is due to unresolved stories from past experiences that were intense that resurfaces in the present, which gets in the way of a desired future state. This can manifest as limiting beliefs, impostor, and fears.
The work of unpacking our stories means peeling back the layers to look through a lens of when you know now.
Acknowledging what was / is without judgement. We ask what lessons can be learned and let go of what no longer serves you.
Identity is a practice of integrating healthy patterns and language that is empowering and leads to alignment of past-present-future self through intentional actions.
A profound shift happens when viewing past challenges that one has overcome from a place of strength versus something painful to be forgotten about.
The outcome of this work is that you see yourself clearly and feel brave to use your voice, and as a result, have courage to be seen. Visibility. Community. Empowered. This deeper connection leads to thriving and growth in all aspects of life and work.
You're able to set clear boundaries that protect your enthusiasm, integrity, truth, and ultimately, freedom to be completely yourself.
The world needs you to not hide your gifts. Purposeful and fulfilled humans do good in the world so that we all rise together!
ABOUT VAN COOLEY
I have been an entrepreneur for over 15 years, but didn’t quite fit into leadership and running my business in a healthy way until a dozen years in. The first several years were spent working in my business and moving along organically through referrals, while also raising two kids and taking care of my family. It was not sustainable or stable and it caused a decline in my health. I was burnt toast, feeling stuck, and overwhelmed with indecision. I hit rock bottom.
At a crossroads, I had a decision to make. Close shop and return to agency work or pivot in a new direction. It took a few years to get out of the fog, but I chose to look at my business with a new lens with the help of mentors and peer communities. I moved away from a one stop graphic design shop and focused on the parts that I was most impactful–foundational brand and identity strategy, building and nurturing client relationships, guiding visualization and distilling stories that are at the heart and essence of the people who make a brand shine.
UNFOLDING PURPOSE THROUGH BRAVE ACTION
What I’m learning is that with every brave intentional action taken, the path before you unfolds. When you stay wildly curious and present, beautiful opportunities emerge. You move intentionally towards your greater purpose and stand firmly, guided by your inner knowing. As a coach, my approach is to be a guide supporting you in the areas that you specifically want to change. Helping you building awareness and providing tools that help you sort through your big, beautiful brain.
I’m based in sometimes sunny, mostly rainy Portland, Oregon and partner with clients globally. As creative outlets I enjoy hip hop dance, food & travel photography, and collage art. I drink my coffee black. Love to cook. Mincing garlic is therapy. Yes. Don’t argue with me on this. Food is life and meant to be savored. Slow. Best when meals are shared with others.
I’ve always been empathic and highly sensitive to the energy of people and places. Am practicing meditation, learning how to find peace in stillness. Raising two kids that remind me how to be present and that I am resilient, capable of finding harmony, even in the midst of uncertainty.
