WILD BADGER

Business Management from the Ground Up
Wild Badger Management provides business services to emerging, craft beverage producers around the country, focusing on the offering of services in three core areas: Business Management, Sales & Marketing, and Administration. Left of Sunset was commissioned to create a brand narrative and identity system for this vibrant, startup based out of Austin, Texas. We happily rolled up our sleeves and dug in to create a logo identity system that allows the client to be seen and emerge.

PROCESS
Badgers are underground creatures, connected to the Earth, rooted. The badger are protective and loyal to their pack. We applied these characteristics to give our mascot a personality that communicates Wild Badger Management's purpose: to consult and guide small producers who want to expand production locally, regionally and/or nationally, but are not quite staffed or knowledgable on how to scale up smartly.

Essentially, the Wild Badger team acts as satellite Human Resources, Accounting, and Sales departments, working behind the scenes to help companies grow their businesses efficiently.
SOLUTION
Wild Badger wanted to avoid dull and corporate that tends to be seen a lot in the industry.

Left of Sunset created a friendly, yet fierce mascot with a punchy golden yellow that really pops with black. Playing with negative space, it appears as though the badger is emerging from the ground. We like the symbolism. The selected color palette, uncommon script logotype, and minimalist visual aesthetic support the company's mission.

Fun Fact
Badgers are capable of burying animals four times its size.
We were inspired by an elapsed time recording from the University of Utah Ecology Department depicting an American Badger burying a small cow underground to store as food, both preserving and hiding the carcass from other animals. What an industrious, clever creature!
Badgers don't mess around. They get it done.
